Welcome!

A note to anyone visiting my page:

My name is Emily Kerins. As of writing this post, I am a 23-year old student at John Jay College of Criminal Justice, majoring in Forensic Psychology. I live in Queens with my two dogs, Jasper and Harley, and hamster, Caramel. Additionally, I work in the bar/restaurant industry as a manager and I truly love it.

My educational and career goals include obtaining my PhD or PsyD in Forensic Psychology, and eventually participating in local politics (or maybe I’ll decide to run for President one day, who knows!) I believe that one day, my education and hard work will lead to me fixing some of the major issues we have in this country, regarding imprisonment, rehabilitation, and mental health.

My personal goals, however, include one day building an animal sanctuary where I can rescue and house abandoned and abused animals; from domestic pets, to farm animals- even wild creatures that have been taken advantage of by zoos and similar institutions.

I created this site as a requirement for my ENG 101 COMP class. My classmates and I have been instructed to upload our assignments from so far this year. I think, though, that I will continue to use this as my Undergraduate Portfolio in the semesters to come; I love to write and share my ideas, and I think this will be a great place to showcase some of my best work!

Thank you for reading and I hope you enjoy what I have to show.

Best of luck,

Em
